A New Season is upon us. July has come and gone and with it the first year of my two year term. August 1st marked the first official day of my second term and August 15th marked the first National Board Meeting of the new term, and with plenty of things to highlight for the coming year.
Here are some of the highlights:
Membership renewal is currently taking place and will run from August 1 ,2017 – October 15, 2017. All membership renewal notices were sent out via email to the email address we have on file for you. You will be required to log into LambdaNet to pay pay your dues. If you have not done so in the past or did not receive an email, please contact Executive Director Jarrod Cruz at email@example.com.
In keeping with our fraternities philosophy of encouraging every brother to pursue the highest possible degree in their field, we have instituted a new waiver program for those brothers who are currently in pursuit of a Ph.D. or the highest possible degree in the their respective field of study. To learn more about this or to apply, please contact Executive Director Jarrod Cruz via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
As always, we like to recognize the sacrifices of our brothers currently in active duty military service Outside of the Continental United States (OCONUS) and offer the small thank you of a dues waiver so that they may continue to remain active and ready to serve Lambda upon their return. To learn more about this or to apply, please contact Executive Director Jarrod Cruz via email at email@example.com
Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI):
As our National Philanthropy, we are once again continuing the campaign to support CHCI by raising funds for the 2017 Latino Leaders Campaign which will take place from August 1, 2017 – June 30, 2018. Alumni Entities are asked to once again create a fundraising team on CrowdRise under the closest Sector Board.
Last year, alumni entities were the top fundraisers with a healthy competition of who would take the top spot. We will see if there can be a repeat.
The National Convention (LambdaCon) will be taking place in Kansas City, MO July 11-15, 2018. Remember that as with all conventions, this will be an election year, so if you are planning to run for an National Executive Board position or would just like to exercise your right to vote, please be sure to have your membership renewed and encourage other to do the same.
We have already been planning for great things for alumni this year and hope to make it a great one. See you in K.C.
These are just a few of the many great things that are happening for alumni and the fraternity. Please continue to check back for more information and updates and if you have anything going on that you would like to see posted here, please feel free to reach out to me via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to the new year and all of the great things that are to come.
